Friday 10th February
Friday Night Dinner
Our eagerly awaited FND series has returned for 2012, with Cheryl &
Tom organising a fantastic pizza night.
FND's are a great opportunity to involve your spouse with the club
(if not already one of our regular ladies) at a light hearted social
level. Catch up with fellow members in a relaxed atmosphere
where we all have something in common - Corvettes.
Meeting at Harvey Norman, Logan Hyperdolme at 6pm for a 6:15
departure. We'll proceed Brisbane bound along the M1 and
Riverside Expressway to our destination at 167 Given Terrace,
Paddington. There we'll enjoy an evening of fine pizza, and
remember it's BYO alcohol.
Northside members are welcome to meet at the venue for a 7pm
sitting.
Please RSVP to Cheryl on 0488 781 903

Sunday 12th February
Australian Day - Bayside Restorers Car Rally and lunch at the
Redland Bay Hotel
An annual club pilgrimage and personal favourite !!!
This is not a car show, this is a car rally. No prizes, no
judges, just hundreds of car nutz sharing their passion for
automobiles.
A truly fascinating morning featuring the largest variety of cars
you'll see in SEQ.
QCC members will be meeting at the 7/11 Service Station, Mt Gravatt
- Capalaba Road, just east of the Gateway Motorway at 7:15am for a
7:30 departure.
We'll proceed east via Capalaba and Alexandra Hills along Finucane
Road, to Wellington Street, Ormiston then School Road, and the
Ormiston State School.
The Rally starts early and finishes early. You'll barely have
sufficient time to view all of the 500+ cars on display.
At around 10~10:30, we will be heading
south via Cleveland and Victoria Point to enjoy a relaxing Bayside
lunch at the Redland Bay Hotel.
There are three planned rally routes departing the school grounds
and we'll have a look to see if any of these will lead us to a point
where we can discretely detour to the hotel. If not, we'll
take our own scenic route from Ormiston to Redland Bay.
Our veranda Bayview table is booked for 11am with meals available
from 11:30. This should give us plenty of time to settle into a
Sunday session. Members unable to join the car rally are
welcome to meet at the Hotel around 11.
Participants will need to bring a hat, cool water and sun screen to
the car rally and pocket money for lunch.
Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club Rally entry is $2 and includes a free
breakfast. There will also be refreshments available and a
huge fund raising raffle in support of local charities.
Open Invitation to fellow Corvette owners - please feel welcome to
join us for a great day and meet new friends who share your passion.
Mike Reptik is run leader for this event. Please give him a call on
3824 0280 to RSVP your lunch reservation.

Sunday 19th February
"The Little Darlings Picnic"
Meeting at Harvey Norman, Logan Hyperdolme at 9am for a 9:15
departure.
Get set to enjoy a 250km round trip through the mountains of Boonah,
Rathdowney and Beaudesert. These are not highways but,
beautiful country back roads. We plan a midway picnic on the
river at picturesque Darlington Park.
Don't forget to bring your hamper, rug and stories for a casual lay
back Sunday arvo and cruise home.
This is a special day to enjoy with fellow club members and our
families, so leave the Vette at home, bring your partner and the
kids and come in the family taxi. A running stream flows
through the picnic area so the kids can have a cooling splash about.
A great opportunity to meet our partners and for our kids to spend
time having fun in the great out doors.
We will head south along the M1 from Harvey Norman, taking the
Yatala exit and proceeding to Beaudesert. At Beaudesert, we
make a left at KFC and follow the road to our destination -
Darlington Park.
All you little Darlings wishing to enjoy the day, please ring Chris 0427 570 019

Wednesday 7th March
Queensland Corvette Club Members Meeting - 7:30pm
Club meetings are a great way to get to know fellow members on a
social level and to have input into club activities and issues.
Hotel HQ serve great meals each evening so why not plan to arrive a
little early and enjoy dinner with your friends.
Mike Gocs has organised a special guest speaker for our March
meeting, an automotive engineer, to speak about compliancing
imported Corvettes. Certainly a current topic given the number
of Vettes finding their way to Australia at the moment.
So, if you have a recent import or are thinking of
arranging an import, don't miss out because this
promises to be an educational presentation.

Church at 3 Castle Crescent, Holmview.

our use of church grounds for this event, members are reminded to be
respectfully discrete with their alcohol.
