Saturday 22nd November - Queensland Corvette Club Christmas Party

All QCC members are invited to enjoy an Aussie Christmas this year.  Please include your partners and children / grandchildren, this is our big family day and we'd love to have the littlies involved too.

Kevin and Denise have kindly volunteered their home to host the party and Nev will be looking after the catering.

Commencing from 1pm with dinner at 6pm, there will be plenty of fun for the whole family with Egg & Spoon races, Sack races, Tunnel-ball, Minty hunt, Volleyball, Three-legged race and French Cricket.

Our club is supplying all of the beautiful food and lots of refreshing drinks.  Alcohol is BYO.

Come dressed in your favorite Aussie clobber and be prepared for a pretty laid-back afternoon.  Please remember to pack a hat, sun screen, a stubbie cooler, comfortable shoes and togs 'n' towel if you like to swim.

The address and additional details are on page three of your Vetteletter.

Pete and Ali will be leading a group from the Hyperdome at midday or meet at the Silk's around 1pm.

Sunday 30th November -  Camp Quality Bribie Christmas Party

The Camp Quality Bribie Christmas Party is undoubtedly, the most personally rewarding event that I've had the pleasure of being involved with.

That's a pretty big statement - just ask any member who's taken part in this annual event and I'm sure they'd express the same sentiments.

The Queensland Corvette Club, together with the Harley Owners Group, the Lyons Club of Queensland, Camp Quality and many special community groups from the Bribie Island district combine to provide a Christmas Party for Children and their Families that have been touched by Cancer.

The party is held in a beautiful beachside park, with food, drinks and entertainment provided by special members of the community, for special members of the community.

As a club, we contribute the proceeds of fund raising activities throughout the year towards the many needs of the Camp Quality organisation and then provide our vehicles and time to help brighten the day for these beautiful kids at their Christmas Party.

It is our pleasure to take Camp Quality children, and their families, for joy rides in our cars as part of the entertainment for the day.

Please consider setting aside the day to help with this event particularly, if you've not previously had the opportunity.

Cafe's are located conveniently and there are park tables and benches for our use.  I'm going to throw in my togs and a towel this year as the clear waters of Bribie Island are perfect for a relaxing swim. (no photos thanks)  Food and drinks are provided to volunteers for free, just bring a hat, sun screen, cool water and morning tea.

We need as many Corvettes as possible and volunteers to assist the children in and out of the cars.  Drivers are requested to bring a cushion for the children to sit on - some are quite young and may not be able to enjoy the view without one.

Meeting at Clive Peeters, Loganholme for an 8am departure, collecting Northsiders at the BP Burpengary for a 9am departure by convoy to Bribie Island.

Keith Hosking is leading this run, please call him on 0417 744 924 to confirm your attendance.

We need at least 12 Vettes for this day to work, and have ten confirmed so far.

This is a great opportunity to share your pride & joy with a lovely group of deserving children - please join in if you can.

Monday 26th January - Bayside Restorers Ormiston Classic Car Rally

This has become an annual Australia Day pilgrimage for our club and is always an excellent run.

The currently Vetteless Jaimes is leading the troops to sunny Ormiston to join one of the Bayside's most popular car rallies.  Spend a couple of hours in the company of hundreds of beautiful classic cars and then combine with the Queensland Mustang Club for a convoy run to their Cooparoo Club House and a relaxing Aussie BBQ lunch.

Meeting at the 7/11 service station, Mt Gravatt - Capalaba Road, at Mackenzie, just east of the Gateway Arterial Exit for a 7:30am departure.

Corvette convoy run to the Ormiston State School in Wellington Street, via Capalaba.

We need to know who's coming as a courtesy to the Mustang Club for catering purposes so please phone Jaimes on 0423 6446 83 before Monday 19th to confirm your place if attending the BBQ.

This can be a hot time of year so please remember to bring a hat, sun screen and plenty of water.  The rally usually finishes by 10am - yes this is a quick one, so there's not too much sitting around.

The organisers supply a free breakfast to vehicle entrants and there are always various refreshments and snacks available for purchase.

I seem to remember the registration fee was $2, will confirm this ASAP.

This is always a great rally - there are no trophies or judging, just hundreds of car nuts getting together for the pure enjoyment of displaying their vehicles.  The last couple of years have seen 700 ~ 800 classic cars on display, so it's well worth coming along.
