Gold Coast - October 2003

This year after much hard ground work by Brad Stumer, President of the Queensland Corvette Club, the Corvettes were given the honour of doing the Drivers Parade Lap at Indy Gold Coast. Brad was determined that the 50th Anniversary of the Corvettes would not go unnoticed in Queensland and badgered the Indy officials until they eventually gave in to letting our fabulous Corvettes do the Parade Lap, an event that is seen right around the world, giving great coverage to Corvettes in Australia, now the rest of the world realises that we in Aussie actually have some Corvettes!!

Once Brad had confirmation that the event was a goer he issued an invitation to all the Corvette Clubs in Australia to supply Corvettes to feature in the Parade and he was eventually over welcomed with applicants much to his delight. The original deal was to have 50 Corvettes do the Parade Lap on the Saturday but this ended up being 39 on Saturday and 24 on Sunday. Those who were there all said it was a terrific sight to see the Corvettes loaded with the Indy drivers and accompanying pretty girls go round the track. Congratulations must go to Brad for having the determination and endurance to organise this fantastic promotion of our Aussie Corvettes.
