Queensland Corvette Club 2007 Christmas Party - Australian Motorcycle Museum, Haigslea - 2nd December 2007

Majority of members met at Shannon’s early Sunday morning, with Ron and his Cruzin Café for coffee and morning tea, after more than an hour of chit chat it was time for the 16 Vettes and other non Vettes to head off for our first leg to Samford for a much needed toilet stop.  Unfortunately on the way a few Vettes were left behind at traffic lights, I see our convoy rules need to be revisited to assist in keeping us together in the future.

Left Samford for our scenic drive through Mt Glorious on the other side of the Mountain a number of us passed Ernie & Sally who had pulled over due to his Vette having electrical problems again.  Perry & Kev pulled over to lend a hand, however nothing could be done and the Vette had to be towed.  Sally hitched a ride with Denise and left Ernie & Kev waiting for the tow truck (this is another story waiting to be told).

The rest of the convoy travelled through Fernvale onto the Warrego Hwy arriving at the Motor Cycle Museum at Haigslea around 12.30pm.  We had 54 people sitting down for a wonderful lunch with Nev supplying the cold meats & salads with the staff from the museum doing the BBQ.  While this was settling down we wandered over to look through the museum, and then came back to deserts & coffee.

It was a great day, fine weather, great company, and great food.  Unfortunately Ernie & Kev were still basting in the ZR1 oven waiting for the tow truck and missed a good afternoon (I hear they will be doing their own run to the museum next year).

We all started to leave around 3.30pm with Greg & Dianne having trouble starting their Vette another electrical fault.  Luckily Chris and Keith helped out and they were on there way (another story is also waiting to be told).

Thanks to everyone

Merry Christmas & Drive your Dream
