Camp Quality Bribie Island Christmas Party - Sunday 30th November 2008
The 2008, Camp Quality Bribie Island Christmas Party has seen another very successful day for a group of very special children. A big thank you to our trip leader, Keith Hosking, excellent job mate, another well planned and executed day. Many thanks to our members who were able to contribute to this special day, either by driving or assisting the children around the vehicles. A special thanks to John Delaney from the Queensland Mustang Owners Club for helping to make-up the numbers - much appreciated and great to catch-up again mate. The Mustang Club were off on one of their own runs today and John decided to join us to help the Camp Quality kids. Mother nature smiled upon us again today, providing a refreshing southerly breeze to keep everyone cool along with a beautiful blue sky - just perfect for the convertibles. We had eleven Corvettes and one Mustang circulating for a number of hours with many kids and adults lined up for a joy ride. Everyone was on their best driving behaviour today after last year's reminder from the very polite local boy's in blue. Our friends from the Ulysses Motorcycle Club were along in strong numbers this year with several trikes proving very popular with the crowd. These guys and gals also put in a big day and it's always a pleasure to share a run with them. The Bribie Island SES did an excellent job of controlling traffic and had the whole section of road closed either side of the set down area this year - a great improvement on previous years. The many wonderful volunteers from the Bribie Island Lyons Club, State Emergency Service, Camp Quality and local businesses certainly provided a terrific Christmas Party with heaps of fresh food, a range of cold drinks, baby animal zoo, giant slide, face painting and many other exciting activities for the children and their families. Well done to everyone who volunteered their time and services to help make this day so special. As you can see from the photos, our cars all looked their very best for the day and were a big hit with our guests. Thanks again to Keith for organising the run and to all of our wonderful members that were able to participate. Jaimes |
