Camp Quality Chandon Dinner 29th May 2008

A dozen beautiful Corvettes and eager drivers were painstakingly assembled to chauffeur the special guests of Camp Quality between the Chandon Dinner and a secret after dinner party.  This was going to be a late night operation, rendezvous at the Kangaroo Point Cliffs 21:30, on a mission to put a thrill into the evenings activities.

Our events coordinator and his team were briefed and the plan was finalised.

Unfortunately, a low pressure system off the South East Queensland Coast had other plans.  Brisbane received some 90mmm of rain that evening and our mighty convoy fell fowl of a typically miserable winter's night.

The best laid plans.......

Some dinner guests were reluctant to leave their warm surrounds but, those that ventured out enjoyed their spin in a gleaming Corvette.  The mission was completed but afterwards, all drivers decided to return to base on account of the poor weather.

Needless to say, there was little chance of any photo reconnaissance and only garbled reports from the sortie.

A big thank you to our Events Coordinator, Nev and the eleven brave drivers who took to the streets to undertake this mission, with a special thanks to Case from the Sunshine Coast who volunteered to help out and drove down to join the crew in spite of the weather.

Adventure, above and beyond the call of duty.  Well done team!
