| Cleveland Auto Spectacular 27th April 2008 A small Corvette contingent turned out for the 2008, Cleveland Auto Spectacular with only 5 Queensland Corvette Club cars entered. There were also a few individual Corvette entries among the 1000 strong competitors. The group met at the 7/11 service station on Mt Gravatt - Capalaba Road and convoyed to the Cleveland Show Grounds as planned. They were able to park together this year - enter all cars for judging - a lesson learned from previous outings. I understand that so many vehicles turned up to take part in this years' spectacular, that the show grounds were completely full and potential entrants were being turned away by late morning!!! One Corvette came away with a prize on the day, this is quite an achievement given the shear number of competitors. Congratulations to Brian Cox, who's beautiful red 1986 C4 Coupe took out First Place in the Sports Car Category. Congratulations also to the Sunshine Coast Commodore Club for their Most Represented Trophy, with 28 club vehicles entered. It would be great to beat this at the 2009 spectacular. This event is always a great day out with a huge range of vehicles on display, enormous swap meet, trade stalls (particularly those carrying American gear), food, refreshments and entertainment. As always, this is a great opportunity to meet fellow club members and provide a practical exercise in presenting your car for judging scrutiny. Many thanks to the group of dedicated members who attended and waved the flag for our club.
