Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast
Mother Nature certainly smiled upon our club, turning on perfect weather for our day at the beach. Approximately, 60 Corvettes turned out for our annual concourse and our first time on the water front at Surfers Paradise. We enjoyed great off street parking with the rolling surf of the Pacific Ocean forming a picturesque and ever changing backdrop.
Thanks to everyone who participated in making the day such a success; the many entrants from Queensland Corvette Club, Downunder Corvette Club, dedicated individuals, and representatives from the Gold Coast City Council, Shannons, Surf City Garage and of-course Camp Quality.
A special thank you to Nev, Bob, Brad and their team of wonderful volunteers who organised everything from the location, trophies, equipment, judging, decorations and then co-ordinated everything to work perfectly on the day. All of this made a little more difficult by the new location with access and parking being fine tuned on the run.
A great many visitors took the opportunity to marvel at a wide variety of beautiful examples of the Corvette marque on display. Beautiful C1's & C2's, the usual large representation of C3's & C4's along with a growing number of C5's and our lone C6. Examples ranging from dedicated show cars to everyday drivers and everything in between joined together to the delight of admirers and enthusiasts alike.
Looks like Surfers Paradise will make a great home for our annual Club Concourse, might even bring my swimmers next year.
