Pete & Ernie's Damn Observation Run - Sunday 7th December 2008
The dam to dam
damned run!!!
Pete was sporting an
egg on his head and I wore a black eye that the boss gave me the day before.
(knew I shouldn’t have trimmed that bush). Pete started the day by beating
his head on the driveway, we were worried it would make him as silly as a wheel,
but nobody could tell the difference.
Still eleven cars braved the weather and headed off, and apart from John & Sue doing some extra miles everyone found there way to Maroon Dam for morning tea. The rain held off and it got extremely humid. Our Victorian visitors Ken & Jen, although loving the green countryside, looked to be melting along with the rest of us.
There
seemed to be a lot of graft going around again with items for the treasure hunt
being bartered, and rumors of money changing hands. PT and I looked like
we would be in for a profitable xmas after all.
After a excellent
feed and a coffee the Journey of the Damned resumed and we finished off the last
of the questions at Moogerah Dam.
We regrouped and
sped off [slowly off course ] to our lunch destination, following
the ZR1 through the back blocks to Aratula on to Rosewood- Marburg and
into the very cool cellar at Warrego Wines for a lovely repast and wine.
PT and I, with some help from Ali and Sally sorted out the treasure hunt bags, marked the questions and worked out who was in with a chance to win some Booty. The winners and Grinners are listed below, and we are all looking forward to the next one some time in the new year when its not so damned hot.
