GM Day - Sunshine Coast - Sunday 7th September 2008

Weather always plays a big part in a show and shine.  Sunday the 7th September was the date for the G.M. Autospectacular at Kawana.  The Buick Car Club of Qld would have been pleased with the perfect weather they had and the number of entrants and visitors that took part in the celebrations of G.M. Automotive International for 100 years and in Australia for 60 years.  On our trip from Brisbane we had 9 vettes and 1 HSV from our club, 13 with Nev Soloman and Keith Hoskins already there to help with the judging also Neil Fletcher from Yandina, Rob Akers from 1770/Agnes Waters who  had the vette gemlins with a burst radiator hose before he left home.   There were approximately 500 cars on display with 180 being judged.   Congratulations to Ray and Gaye Doyle with their 90 Coupe to  take out best Corvette and Neil Fletcher’s 66 Convertible – best original.

The day was taken up looking at all the trade displays and different cars that go under the G.M. name from Chevrolet, Buick,  Cadillac/La Salle, Corvette, Oldsmobile, Ponitac,/Oakland, Vauxhall, Opel, Holden G.M. Commercial vehicles as well as the new Awesome Holden Coupe 60.

Thank you to all that attended as well as giving up your Fathers Day and the Sunday morning sleep in to make the G.M. day an enjoyable occasion  with a special thank you to Nev and Keith for giving up their day to do the judging as our representative for the  Corvette Marque.
