Queensland Corvette Club 2008 Christmas Party - Saturday 22 November 08
|
“How good was that!” was the universal cry after this club event. Notwithstanding the storm damage prior to the event and the forecast of more to come on the day, 72 people rolled up at the Silk spread in Bunya Riverside to join in the fun and start the Xmas spirit. The races included egg & spoon (with boiled eggs), lily pad (with plastic pads) and sack. Other entertainment included volley ball, hoola hoops, water pistols, a huge jumping castle and of course Santa arriving in the little red vette. The big (adult?) and little kids had a great time and prizes with certificates were awarded to the winners.
The venue was perfect as was the catering. Nev is to be congratulated for the “Spit Roast Service.” The club is indebted to Kevin & Denise for making the venue available and for their perseverance and effort in organizing it all in spite of the additional load the storms presented. Kev’s aim was to create an informal atmosphere so every one could relax, communicate and have a good time. This was achieved in spades and must be the go for the future.
Kevin has asked me to thank, on his & Denise’s behalf, those club members who stayed over night to initially round off a great day and later assist with the clean up.
A full report on this aspect of the day, by Geoff Roberts will be in a later Vetteletter. Keith Hosking
