FRIDAY NIGHT FEAST AT RHAPSODY
RESTAURANT 16 May 2008
Only 10 hardy souls ventured out for Friday Night Dinner this
month. A lot of the regulars were off motorbike racing, timekeeping,
babysitting and some coughs and colds marked the usual beginning of the
winter cold and flu season.
Nice to see Bob’s golden C3 back on the road after nearly a
year. The bonnet was instantly up and the guys admired the
renovations completed at Chris Carson’s Workshop. Nice work Chris!
A short trip to our destination was all that was needed and
we were safely seated in full view of our precious Vettes. We soon needed
the big gas heaters, as the night got quite cold really early. Looks like
we’re in for a long winter this year!
Food was tasty and generous and conversation flowed freely,
along with the wine.
Bob remarked how quiet it was without Pete and Barb and he
had a point!
Desserts are a highlight of this place and some
health-challenged members threw caution to the wind and had the home-made
pavlova anyway.
One of the ladies was heard to remark that the Crème Brulee
was better than sex, to which her husband replied,” If I’d known that, I
wouldn’t have let you order it!”
Our Hungarian host Alex, was friendly and attentive and it
was a good night all round.
We look forward to a step back in time at “Bogart’s Place”,
our destination for the June Friday Dinner.
