Queensland Corvette Club 20th Anniversary Dinner - Saturday 21st November 2009
Brisbane Park Regis Hotel

Thank you to our wonderful organising team for hosting a function above and beyond the call of duty.  I've no doubt that everyone in attendance would agree the tireless efforts of Brad, Sandy, Peter, Alison, Ernie and Sally made the evening such a huge success.

A big thank you to Renee our functions co-ordinator from the Park Regis Hotel for helping to plan, set up and then cater for our celebration.  The bar worked well, our aperitifs were delicious, the buffet was outstanding, and deserts fantastic.  The service, food, entertainment and venue were just perfect.  In-fact, we whole heartedly recommend the Brisbane Park Regis Hotel to all of our friends requiring accommodation, function rooms or an excellent restaurant close to the City heart, South Bank Parkland and public transport.  Please click on the Park Regis logo for more information.

Thank you to the members of Route 66 who kept our party rockin' into the night.  I understand why these talented guys have such a big following - we even had members of the public phone to ask if they could attend our function because they hate to miss their favourite band play - now that's dedication......

And, finally, thank you to the members who were able to join us for the evening, especially those who travelled from Victoria, North Queensland and everywhere in between.  Thanks also to our many founding and long serving members who were presented with certificates acknowledging their many contributions to our club.

With two thirds of our full membership in attendance, a real testament to the dedication and social focus of our members, we had a great time celebrating this event at the Park Regis looking over the Brisbane River towards South Bank.  It really is a great opportunity to catch up with members rarely seen as well as those who enjoy a deeper involvement with our many and varied social activities.

Pete and Brad MC'd the evening with the auctions a high point for me.  Thank you to all who donated items & also to the people that so kindly bid and won.  I wonder how many members woke with the thought, "I don't remember buying that!"  Unfortunately, I was out bid on the beautiful home made Christmas Cake and Rugby Encyclopaedia in the silent auctions and my darling wife didn't tell me until after the hammer that I should have bid on the very collectable Jim Beam Corvettes.....

We enjoyed a great evening and really appreciate the months of work and planning that culminated in an evening befitting such a milestone for our club.  1st November 1989 - 1st November 2009

In Brad's words, "it was a great evening, great food, great people it was just GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!!"
