Sunday 3rd May 2009 - Lakeside Raceway, Brisbane

Was a glorious day, weather wise and the day turned out well.  The track itself has been upgraded to a well prepared and smooth bitumen surface.  There were lots of under cover areas for participants to get thier cars ready for racing and there were plenty of guys ready to take full advantage of it.

Six Corvettes were resting around the track, but only Bryan took his Vette out for a race.  Lots of Rice Burners of all varrities as well and one R8 Audi which looked very smooth.  A DB9 Aston also drove a few laps but neither were prepared to put them into the barriers and were taking it steady.

Funniest car of the day had to be the VW service van that some bloke had nicked from his boss I reckon, was out on the track giving it a hell of a shake and having the time of his life.

There are plenty of facilities for the non racers and still more to come, from what we have been led to believe, all in all, a race day could be in the planning, so keep an eye on the events calendar.

[Alas No Photos as I forgot to put the camera in the Vette.]

The ZR1 will be at the next event for sure now that the oil leak has been fixed, so hope to see more budding racers out there next time.

Cheers Ernie.
