| Sunday 22nd March 2009 - Mt Cotton Rain Forest
morning tea & Redland Bay Hotel lunch
36 of us decided to have a nice sunny day
run and with Brad at the helm and that's exactly what we did.
We left the usual spot at the Hyperdome then
headed off for a leisurely 30 min drive to Mt Cotton Rainforest Gardens.
Once parked and the usual amount of cheek dished out we headed into the
scones, jam and cream arena for the dishing out we had come for.
Washed down with fresh coffee and tea most of us athletic ones opted for
the gardens walk. Both Phil and myself with the aid of our ring
in, Officer Dibble, were the only ones to make the lookout hill peak.
We quickly formed a new club calling it the "Mile High Club", and then
us most adventurous ones joined the others, picking up Geoff and Carolee
along the way. Geoff said he would have made it with us but wanted
to stay with Carolee as she gets lonely and scared at heights.
Ernie said he is always lonely and scared and Webro thought he already
was a member of the Mile High Club.
Once the scones had worn off we boarded our faithful Vettes to head to the ocean, or to Ali's next best hobby, "lunch." Meeting a few other members at The Redland Bay Hotel, it was time to place the orders again and sit down to a scrumptious lunch. Silky shouted the bar, he just hasn't seen his visa statement yet! We had a nice Vette display on the lawn area under the big trees and it was nearly as good as our messy table displays when we left.
Another well run event, driving, eating,
exercising and telling stories, thanks Brad for compiling the info, we
work well together, cheers Peter
Thanks to Mike for the pix - cheers mate. |
