Bob and Lorna's Observation Run - Sunday 4th October 2009

What a wonderful day was had by all that attended the run – perfect weather and great company.   We met at McDonald’s, Bryants Road for a nice coffee to start the day off, then 12 corvettes and 3 cars commenced just after 9.00 am.

A small hiccup at Jacobs Well where there was a cyclist event going on, but the cars took a detour and continued on.  All meeting up again at Polly’s Creek Side Cafe for morning tea at 11.00 am, departing for more questions to answer before going on up the mountain range to Springbrook Mountain Manor for a very enjoyable lunch.  The temperature was 28 degrees when we arrived, then the clouds came down with some light rain and the temperature dropped to 16 degrees within 15 minutes, the saying is correct about Springbrook Mountain “where the clouds touch the earth.”

There were 55 questions to be answered and out of this, the winners of the Observation Run with 50 correct was the Turner Family.  After Lunch we all drove back down the mountain and headed for home.

Looking forward to the next one – Your Trip Leaders, Bob & Lorna Mihill !
