Back
to our Friday night eating out with fellow members routine. Ali did a
great job organising for 22 of us for a great evening at the Fox and Hounds
Pub at Wongawallan.
Leaving the Hyperdome as usual, picking up a few along the way and meeting
the rest in the beer garden was perfect. Once inside, the traditional
Irish / English decor was very different, so were the beers offered on tap.
Geoff wasn't sure with the funny colour and Dave had to keep up with John
drinking out of big cups!
From
curries to Irish stews they had the lot catered for and we took full
advantage of the menu. It was good to see Sally back on the wine,
keeping up with Ali and not get silly. Our 10 Corvettes in the car
park had a reserved area set aside for us and after the cruise up the flood
battered road from Coomera, across the new one lane causeway, they deserved
a special park.
A few
highlights, Ern and Sal getting lost, arriving late and grumpy, Ron and Jean
leaving early ( maybe a curry issue?? ), Glen spilling alcohol over the
floor and Ali eating ribs the whole time all this went on. Mmmm she
loves ribs... The Corvettes headed off down the mountain with one
Monaro trying to keep up, coffee at Macca's Helensvale for the regular left
over lot who never want to go home.
A
great night, a few non regular members joining in, terrific service from an
untraditional venue, but most of all an excuse to take the Vette out and
have fun....
Well
done Ali on your choice, I know why we refer to you as the "catering
officer"....... cheers.....
