President's Report (July 2003)

Again thanks to Greg for chairing the July meeting and I will be calling on him again in September as I have other commitments on the night. Our August meeting will have Ian from Raceline Promotions as a guest speaker to talk about our Concourse involvement with the Street Torque Xtreme Motor Show in October. So come along and have your queries and questions answered. Welcome to all the new members who have joined the club in the last couple of months, hope you enjoy the club, make many new friends and join in the many activities.

Membership renewals were due the 1st July with many having paid, which is great, but as usual there are quite a few members that are a bit slow in rejoining, so as a general reminder non financial members will not be receiving their next Vetteletter.

The recent Corvettes Down Under Concourse was a great day with around 90 cars on display; our club members won a number of Trophies. Thanks to George Gilby and his team of workers for their hospitality and inviting all Corvette enthusiasts to this event (photos & trophy list further on in the magazine). Next on the agenda is our own Indy events including the annual Concourse in October, this is going to be a very exciting time for everyone, the Indy committee is well under way organising all 3 events, Indy Vette Sprints / Indy Vette Fest / Indy Parade Laps. The basic plan for these events is in place, however your assistance would be greatly appreciated, once again members remember IT IS YOUR CLUB, so assist whenever and however you can. Information regarding these events is further on in the magazine.

NSW Corvettes Unlimited are running Corvettes at Fox Studios in September again, Sandy and myself are going down for the weekend so if anyone else is interested in going please let us know.

Due to unforseen circumstances we were not able to do the membership draw (worth $100) and the renewal raffle (men’s C4 watch) at the July meeting; these will be done at the August meeting. Also the $5 raffle draw with the membership renewal for the 50th Anniversary Monopoly (1st prize), and the 50th Anniversary Jigsaw (2nd prize) will be drawn on the night.
