| President's
Report (March 2003)
Another
great attendance with around 42 members at the March meeting. With
this being my 5th month at the helm everything seems to be running
fairly smoothly. However, if anyone has any ideas and knows of any
guest speakers that could make these meetings a little more entertaining
or informative, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with
me. Any feed back is welcome, constructive or otherwise. Why not
try giving us a helping hand and you just might find out how rewarding
it can be to be involved with Queensland’s No. 1 Corvette
Club.
Our
runs have started a little slowly for the year, with rain cancelling
the Super Sunday Show & Shine at Parklands. It has been moved
to Sunday 13th April. There was a good attendance at Allan &
Elfi’s run to Billy’s Service Station and dinner at
Victoria Point. I haven’t seen so many Corvettes and other
makes of cars at a run for a long time. Approximately sixty members
attended. We had a great time and I am sure everyone else did too.
Also looking forward to Ray’s Tamborine run at the end of
the Month and Bob’s Drive in night in early April. SEE YOU
ALL THERE.
As
the BIG ONE GETS NEAR (only three weeks by the time you receive
this Vetteletter), over thirty Queenslanders will be heading south
to Canberra over the Easter weekend for the 15th National Corvette
Convention to celebrating 50 years of Corvettes. If you are still
deciding to go? Make the effort!!! Come along, drive in convoy,
make new friends and have a great time while chatting to Corvette
owners from Australia wide. What ever your reason for owning a Corvette,
you will be able to do it at the 15th National Corvette Convention
in Canberra over Easter.
Just
two weeks after this, will be our Hot Rod Show display, which is
well under way and organised. We have had some members already put
their hands up to help set-up, man the stand and pull down over
the Labour Day long weekend. A few more are still needed, so give
me a call and I will let you know how to be part of this fantastic
show. Many hands make light work.
Our
calendar for the year is filling but not as yet full, so please
keep the run suggestions and proposals coming in, so Greg can add
them to our schedule.
All
the best to Corvettes of Canberra for their big event & hope
everyone has a safe and happy Easter.
Till next month
Drive your Dream
