President's
Report (January 2004)
By
now everyone will be back from their Christmas break, and should
be keen to get involved in our upcoming events.
January's
club meeting was surprisingly well attended with 43 members and
1 guest, an excellent turn up for this time of year. The new Committee
has settled in with their specific jobs and is looking forward
to carrying out their ideas for 2004; also we welcome and thank
Tanya Walker for taking on the Fund Raiser position, with many
thanks to Sue for her efforts in the past 3 years. I see that
Tanya will continue with the same enthusiasm, and hopefully the
members will continue to support the raffles by purchasing tickets
or making donations.
Discussions
and proposals regarding the format and location of the next concourse
will be held at
February's meeting and I encourage all members to attend and put
forward any ideas they may have. Also I need a committee and suggestions
for our display at the Hot Rod Show held on the May long weekend.
Many
thanks to Jim Anderson for his help and the explanation at the
last Club meeting with our Audit report. Jim and Karen attended
our last committee meeting, Jim as an advisor to assist us with
the issues that the Auditor has raised about preparing the audit
and recommendation that the club's financial year end be changed.
This special resolution will be held at the February meeting;
Jim will be there to answer any questions that members wish to
bring forward. More information
