President's Report (September 2004)

Firstly I would like to thank those who nominated and voted for me to take on the President’s role for the 3rd year; I will endeavour to keep the enthusiasm in the Club, all the while promoting the Corvette Marquee Australia wide.

The club’s meeting and AGM went well with a rather small attendance, but it wasn’t as hard to get some new faces to take on committee positions, with Greg Starkey chairing our AGM we slowly got through all the rigmarole and selected a keen bunch of enthusiasts (well I think they are keen) to project the club into 2005. New members that have joined the committee are Tony Walker as our new Treasurer with Barb Kelly moving to a committee position with Ernie Whittle, Russell Ward and Rod Robertson.

I would like to thank the past committee for their support over the last year, and welcome the new committee and hopefully you all will enjoy your involvement in assisting with the input and running of the Qld Corvette Club Inc.

October is a huge Month for the Club. October 3rd Indy Vette Fest / Concourse - Show N Shine October 17th Indy Vette Sprints / Muscle Car Gymkhana - Show N Shine. There has been a lot of work in organising these events again this year and I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Indy Committee and our generous Sponsors for their help towards making the Indy Vette Fest a Grand Event. It is now up to all Club Members, Corvette owners & enthusiasts to attend and support the Club and our chosen charity Camp Quality.

IMPORTANT: Your entrance pass for 2 Adults to our Concourse and the Street Torque Xtreme Motor Show will be attached to this Vetteletter. Don’t leave your pass at home as it will be needed for your entry as a spectator and or
concourse entrant. All non Club pre Entrants will receive their pass in the mail before the show.

Pre entries have been flowing in steadily, remember if you pre enter with payment of $20 prior to the event you will be in the Draw for a Mystery Prize, also this helps minimise our work load on the day. Come Saturday 2nd as well, DYNO / SHOW N SHINE / BBQ LUNCH plus several Trophies to be won. MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT.

Don’t forget we still need bookings and payments for the 15th Anniversary Party. The time has come to ask for your commitment, so please phone Keith Harper ASAP so we can finalise for the catering of this event.

Hope to see most of you during the very busy Month of October and please check out our coming events and support your club by participating. For those members that don’t usually attend, come along and you will have a great time with other Corvette enthusiasts.
