President's
Report (November - December 2006)
Well the end of the year is in sight and as usual, the panic seems to have set in. I don’t know about the rest of you, but
things get really hectic from here.
November is now gone and I hope everyone enjoyed the couple of events that we had. One event that was not programmed into the schedule was our hastily convened co-run with the Buick Club. For the four members that made
the effort, it was a enjoyable day, with a meandering trip through the coast, then to Hinze Dam and onto Canungra for a
late lunch at the RSL.
A very pleasant day in all and I am looking forward to doing it again next year, after sorting out a suitable date for both
clubs.
Please remember to attend the Christmas party this year, as we need as many cars as we can get to help the Convention
co-ordinators get an idea of parking for the Convention Show ‘n’ Shine.
PLEASE LOOK AFTER THE PARK ( ie no wheelies).
NUMBERS ATTENDING WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR CATERING, so please let Brad know before the day.
Phone 0414730833---38035103 Or myself on 0411741378.
We are still looking for a full-time Treasurer, any help will be graciously accepted and on-the-job training can be
arranged.
Please remember that if you have photos or a written article that you would like in the magazine, or on the web site,
send them in, as we would love to use them [content being suitable, that is].
New merchandise is available again for those wanting to look the part, so ring Sally on 38012404 and she will be only
too happy to help you out.
The Committee have spoken to Judy from Camp Quality and we have a confirmed date for their Chandon Dinner
Night next May. We are hoping to supply a larger number of cars this time, as this is of huge assistance to them and doesn’t
require us to do the actual fundraising ourselves. More about that later in the New Year!
Camp Quality will also assist any Club members who wish to obtain a Blue Card, free from the usual $40 search fee
charges. This means we are then legally allowed to drive the children around in our ‘Vettes.
I am hoping that as many members as possible will take this opportunity to get them, as this makes us able to be so
much more involved with our chosen charity.
Further more, we are hoping to combine a Saturday night Cruise with an event where we would be able to take the kids from C/Q on a night trip through Surfers, as this would be an exciting event for them.
Well that’s it for me , I hope every one has a great time over Christmas, may your God go with you, be extra careful
on the roads and we will see everyone next year, with a huge smile and lots of stories to tell.
Drive safe , enjoy your Vette, see you all soon.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
