President's Report (september 2006)

Well, it looks like you're stuck with me for another year. Actually I'm looking forward to a really busy year, with the 2007 Convention being a real highlight. I really hope you can all join me and the hard-working Committee and make it a memorable
week-end.

Many thanks to the out-going QCC Committee members for all their time and effort over the '05/'06 year. Thanks also to those who helped "show me the ropes" during that time. While it does take a good bit of time and effort to be a Committee member,
I've had some great fun and have met so many new and interesting members and enthusiasts, both here and overseas .I would recommend it to any member that does have a little time to spare and would like to be a bit more involved with their
"passion".

Welcome aboard to my new Committee and I look forward to working with you all this year, especially my new off-sider Bob Mihill (aka Santa).

The position of Treasurer is still vacant, so I would really like any member with basic MYOB skills to put their hand up please. Ladies, you are also invited! If someone uses a different program for their own business/workplace records, that also is fine.
Tony will hold the fort temporarily, but it is really vital that we fill this position. As Tony said at the AGM, he only spends 1 hour/week and maybe 2-3 hours at the end of the month. Please e-mail Barb or myself to show your interest.

A big thank you to Mike Reptik, who has agreed to be Safety Officer and allow Brad to focus on the Convention. Thanks also to Barb Kelly, who has once again been coerced into taking the Secretary's role.

The Committee has changed the magazine submission date to the 14th of each month, in order to try to get the magazine in the post a little earlier, so please take note of this new date.

Run leaders, can I ask you to write a little report, including photos if you have any, after your event is completed and send it to either Barb or myself for magazine inclusion.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Concourse as much as I did. Whilst the attendance figures were down from last year, we still had 50% of current members there.

Can I remind members that Membership fees are now well overdue and need to be paid ASAP if magazine delivery is still desired.

Please support your club by attending our upcoming events, listed on page 2 of your magazine.

The Christmas break-up is definitely on November 26th and I'd like to have a good show of cars here as it is the last Club event for the calendar year. If anyone has ideas for some fun activities on the day, please send them to the Committee. Final
details of the Christmas break-up will be in the October magazine.

Can I remind members that Convention fees at the discounted rate, need to be paid by the end of the year also.

Until next time- have fun in your 'vette and drive safely. Ernie
