President's Report (April 2007)

Well yet another month has flown by and the Convention looms ready to pounce.

By now I hope everyone has signed on and paid their dues for what promises to be a great Easter getaway. The planning committee has worked long and hard to make this the most memorable Convention ever and I am sure that we all want to thank them for all their hard work and efforts over the last twelve months. I particularly make mention of Brad and Sandy as I know it has been an over the top effort they have put in.

However, on the more mundane front, you will notice a questionnaire in with the magazine this month. Please make the effort to fill it in and send it back as the future direction the Club will head in will be guided by it.

The first paragraph is self-explanatory and is the reason for the necessity to send it out , so no excuses!
Please send it back! It is very important!

You will notice over the next couple of months, a couple of positions within the Committee being reshuffled to sort out our present dilemma of not having a treasurer.

At this point Allen Squire has been doing the Editor's job, as well as part-Treasurers’ job and Membership Services but due to work pressures he is no longer able to do both.

Barb Kelly said she would happily take anyone’s money, alas she cannot do that job as well as Secretary, so a familiar face has very graciously accepted the Secretary and Membership Service's roll [I might add at great risk to his health and THANKYOU also Sandy].

So Brad Stumer will take over this position after the Convention is over and until the AGM in September. With these changes and a little help from friends we will trundle on regardless into the future.

Bobby Mihill has a stack of events planned and they are in the process of being organized so any help on offer please let him know. This is your club don’t leave it to a few to do all the work or pretty soon the willing few get burned out.

I am looking after the Hot Rod Show this year and plans are well advanced. All we need now is to get the size of the area sorted out and we will be right. Thanks to all those that have volunteered to help and display their Vettes. When the time comes I will be calling! Thanks.

Well that’s it for now from me- I am off to pack my suitcase as I am taking The Old Dragon away for our 25th wedding anniversary.

Be Safe, Have Fun and Drive that Vette.
Ernie.
