President's Report (May 2007)

Well its all over bar the shouting and for those that could not make it to the Convention, you missed out on a fantastic event. Those that did make it will be talking about it for a long time.

I know for my part I had a great time, being that it was my first, am now looking forward to the next one in South Australia.

I would like to thank everyone involved in the organizing of the Convention, particularly Brad and Sandy as without their dedication to detail and skills learnt from previous conventions the event would not have ran as smoothly as it did, and again to the team of helpers many, many thanks.

On a personal note, I would like to thank our Emcee for the Sunday night, Justin Herald who very kindly donated his services for free . Many thanks and I hope you get the Zo6 soon.

Getting back to the more mundane however, keep in mind all our regular events, particularly the Hot Rod show coming up, helpers who have volunteered will be notified soon.

We are also looking for back up cars for Camp Qualities Chandon Dinner, so if you can help on the Thursday night 3rd of May please contact me on 0411741378.

Don’t forget the new/old face on the committee as of the next meeting, due to the reshuffle of positions, Barb is looking after Treasury [and will reliably take anyone’s money] and Brad will return to the committee as Secretary.

Please remember if you have any events that you would like to run, contact Bob Mihill and he will cheerfully tell you what you can do with them.!!

The money raised from the auction at the Convention, at this point is still being sorted out and I will let everyone know next month how much we were able to donate to Camp Quality.

Anyway enough from me I am off to my shed to see how much rubber is left on me new rear tyres I bought before I took the new Vette to Willowbank, see you all soon,

Be Safe Drive Carefully and enjoy your Vette. Ernie Whittle.
