President's Report  (August 2009)

Gidday,

I was going to write some "idle chatter" but then I realised I can now call it the "Presidents Report.  Same gossip, different title!

First of all, thanks to Bob for his past 2 years in the hot seat, he's promised to still help and carry on his antics with me so not much will change there.

I've already had e-mails from the new committee especially our safety officer regarding some changes he would like to make.  Minimum tyre widths 315, cars must be painted white, must have a "z" prefix in the identification, mmm I think Ernie is happy to feel needed but should keep his rum intake down..... so thanks to the rest of the committee for putting their hands up to keep your club "running as it has" over the past 20 years.

These members have been elected to make the clubs decisions and is not their paid professions, so thanks to them for their time spent on achieving this.  Remember we are a social club that has members joining for different reasons but we all share the same passion, a stunning vehicle called a Corvette.

As it is our 20th Anniversary, and you all know about our night at The Park Regis organised in November, could everyone think if they have a prize or an idea for one that we could use for an auction on the night. If you can help let myself or Brad know thanks.

Don't forget that Ali has also organised 20th Anniversary shirts for the occasion so contact her with your sizes.

At our last meeting Sally read out a letter from The Down Under Club regarding their letter of intention to host the 2013 Concourse.  If anyone wishes to discuss this any further can they please bring along their comments to the next meeting.

I've handballed the events folder over to Ian Moss and wish him all the best with that..... we have plenty of idea's between all of us to keep the activities happening.

Speaking of activities, don't forget the Taits Day fundraiser on the 30th, looks like about 30 of us so far.  Also Blokes Day on the 19th September has so far attracted 12 vehicles and that will be a good excuse to get them ready for Bobs run the Sunday after.

There's always something to do,

Remember driving a Corvette is a reward, not a chore....... Peter Turner
