President's Report  (March 2009) 

Hi to all members and your families,

What a great year we are having so far.  The Warwick weekend away at McNevins Motel and Saturday at the drag strip was a real buzz.  All who attended the weekend had a great time, a special thanks to Peter and Alison for organising the event.  Hopefully we will do this again next year.

 We are looking forward to March and April runs, Friday night dinner run to Cleveland organised by Robert Gregory, Brad Stumer’s Rainforest to the Bay run.  The Canberra Convention is only weeks away now and all those who will share in the experience should enjoy it plus catching up with old friends.   

 Don’t forget to read our magazine slowly, all of our sponsors and advertisers are waiting for your phone calls so they can be of service to you.  Performax, Jack Beedham’s Exhaust and Brake Centre, Shannons Insurance, Corvette Automotive, Harris Automotive Services, Ecklers, and the Motorcycle Exhaust Professionals have all supported our Club so please support them in these hard times.

 The Committee has put together a spreadsheet analysis on where the Club spends our money and options on what the Club will need to do to save money. 

The spreadsheet will be on the top table at the April Meeting for all to view.  Your Committee has come up with the following things to be considered.   (A) Club magazine could be issued every two months from August ’09 – this would save approximately $3,000 a year on printing and postage.  (B)  A budget should be done for all club events i.e.  Xmas Party and Club Concourse.  Most other events throughout the year must be self funded.

So, please come along to the April meeting as a number of important issues need to be discussed and decisions made.
