The Apple Cart

Ali was shopping with our daughter Maddi last week, she went into a change room, came back out to show Ali the dress, and noticed that her wallet and iPhone had been stolen.  Devastating for most, but for a 16 year girl that had saved every cent, her life had come to an end.

Got me thinking about how these things were such a big part of their world and ever since Apple busted out the iPod and then the iPhone and iPad, my question is: what would it be like if Apple made a car?

While that's fanciful - but not entirely impossible, the fact that most car makers are scrambling to work on in-car systems with the computer giant, indicates we could be hearing that familiar Mac start-up sound through an in-car multi-media system in the not too distant future.  They are predicting Apple's influence on the future of the car could be far greater than we ever imagined.  I hope Dave Kelly wants to be tech-advisor when this happens!!  Car makers will be able to streamline their production facilities by producing models that are fully loaded with all the electronically controlled options already installed, and the customers could simply buy programs - similar to iPhone applications - off the internet to activate them.

Heading down to the Convention for Easter, Ali could download heated seats in Melbourne, Ernie could have the plug and play engine and Dave the suspension software, Bryan and Chris going alone could have games and Webro the cone of silence !!!!

Makes you think doesn't it ?????

Good to have Nev logging back on with the American Icons run in May, great trip with all the hogs last time and look forward to the re-run.

Kev and Denise set their GPS to our home last Sunday and you can read in the following pages about the Billy & Barby family fundraiser day that was the outcome of the days discussions.  (Kev just wanted another dress up!)

Our Merry Skidmas, Christmas in July this year, (details also on our coming events page) upset the Apple Cart as July 9 is the only weekend available for the skidpan, which coincides with the Down Under Club's concourse.  Those wanting to do both can comfortably leave Sunday morning or just come to Gympie for the day, and thanks again to the generosity of Performax International for their contributions to hosting the event.

A terrific outcome from having a meeting with Gary Waterson from the Command Auto Group, they supply "Mothers" products and are attending our May meeting to demonstrate product.  As well as taking a full colour page in our magazine they are committed to attending a lot of our events throughout the year.  We look forward to having them on board.

My phone tells me I've covered this months issues and it's time for lunch, might have an Apple,
