President's Report  (January 2012)

Here we go again 2012 Eh!!!

Seems like just yesterday we were welcoming the new millennium and soon I'm going to be Bob's age, can't do much about it though.....

Don't forget those well intentioned New Year's Resolutions or past dreams for greater things ahead because as we settle into the rhythm of the New Year, these will become very quickly forgotten.

Hands up all those that opened their Christmas present and had a Corvette related present????  How easy is it for our partners, (I mean Santa), to provide us with gifts as anything with a Vette Logo, slogan, picture, article, edible or watchable puts a smile on my dial and is always just what I wanted.  Ali, Maddi, Jack and myself spent Christmas with her family down in Victoria, three days of just grazing and drinking at Nanny's was enough for me so on board a Harley I went for three days down Gippsland leaving the family to finish off the Christmas lunch leftovers.  Having the wind in your faced with a helmet on is not like the convertible, but still it was great riding out on the open road with no plan or destination, my own route 66.

Back home and then to the office to help solve some problems for the world and now the biggest decision.... the 2012 President's Run.  What, where and when?????  I'm working on it as we speak as it is always difficult to surpass the previous years success, it's gunna be difficult but I'll keep you informed.

Life can overwhelm us as year by year we just seem to get busier and things just keep being put on the "next year list."  We have had many enquiries fro potential new members who have finally decided to purchase their dream car (Corvette of-course), and join us on our fun and exciting day, night and weekend adventures.

As news travels that we are the fun and friendly club and all they need is a Corvette to join us, sales are obviously at a premium.  Concessional registrations enquiries are also high and as spoke about the topic at the last club meeting Ernie has followed up with some information in the following pages to help address these issues.  So don't forget if you have a special vehicle we call a Corvette, or intend purchasing one to fulfil your New Years resolution, and looking for activities involving your car and fun, check out our website or the magazine regularly so that you are not disappointed that you missed out joining us on another Vetting experience.

It's understandable that as the hectic pace of life consumes everything we do, we can forget our dreams and goals, but as we get behind the wheel of our wonderful Vettes there's only one thing on our mind besides overtaking Webro, and that's to enjoy one of life's rewards.

As soon as Ali and I got home from our Christmas adventure, we couldn't wait to board the C5 for a costal experience and as we drove down the driveway I thought, another year, "Here we go again!!!!"

Cheers Pete
