Seems GM made no provision for a front number plate on the C6 in the design process. Gm have said you can’t put the plate in the grill opening as it will disrupt air flow to the motor. Buying the Car as standard, you get nothing to mount the front
plate on despite half the states in the US requiring a front plate.

For $15 US GM will sell you a flat black mount or for $65 US you get a colour coded mount as shown in the photos. Directions are to drill 3 holes in the facia of the car and pop-rivet the mount on.

Angry Corvette enthusiasts from states where the front plate is compulsory have contacted GM and been given helpful advise such as “Leave the front plate off and wear the fine” and “Campaign to have your states law changed”.

Lets hope GM reconsiders and comes up with something better by the time the C6 is released. Dave Kelly
